So, last Friday night found us heading for New York for a wedding of an old friend from Bible School...by old i mean its been 5 years since i went to Bible School with her, not old as in, well, old. Ken didn't get home til like 7 so we didn't leave until 8...long story short...by 10 i was driving with 2 sleeping ppls...i was tired too... so i drove til like 1..we stopped in Erie, PA for the night...or should i say half the night =)...thank goodness for a GPS..i looked up hotels on there and got phone numbers...made finding one with an actual vacant room so much easier!!
the wedding was 2 hours from where we stayed, so we decided it would be great to just stay there another night instead of packing everything up b4 the wedding and then trying to find another vacant room...so that's what we did!
the wedding ceremony took place in an old beautiful brick church (which i failed to get a picture of)...it was beautiful inside too...even if it was quite warm!!

this is my daughter during the wedding... we weren't even moving. much. as little as possible...
the ceremony was beautiful despite the warmth..a glorious picture of how Jesus is anticipating. dreaming of. our wedding ceremony some day...the day when we will be pronounced His Bride... what a glorious day that will be!!

the happy couple when they were pronounced husband and wife
At the reception we were seated at the table with more of my Bible School friends...it was a great time catching up again!!

Now,
Today...Madilyn's 6th Birthday!! And to think that it was not so long ago when she was just 7 weeks old and i started babysitting her...
After a 'special' breakfast of french toast sticks we went to the Wildlife Farm in Topeka...more like a mini zoo...

feeding the goats

pony cart ride through the goat pen...there were even deer in the back corner...

these were Rheas...like an ostrich only they can't fly....some huge eggs!!

their attempt at a group girl picture!! kiki at the last minute went and stood in front of them =)

aww... i think Kiana thinks of them as 'sisters'

raccoons, llamas, foxes, buffalo, elk, sheep, so many animals i can't even remember them all!!

the bear was eyeing me through the feeding pipe...looking for some food!!

these big goats were being greedy...but Madilyn 'made' them take turns =)

Makayla is saying 'eww, that goat slobbered all over my hand'

she was walking down to where Madilyn was trying to get the cows attention...she talks with her hands even when she's walking =)

tigers, lions, bears, even an alligator!!

i thought these deer were interesting...such huge racks, but they have spots...?

the birthday girl got a ride on 'Jimmy'

i love you Madilyn...i'm glad i get the opportunity to be in your life!!

baby pot-bellied pigs

Kiana "milking" the wooden cow...
